Take the kids on an adventure through a wonderland of nearly one million tulips in Melbourne’s Dandenong Ranges.

The 2018 Tesselaar Tulip Festival is a children’s paradise, with fun activities, food and market stalls held against a colourful backdrop of 900,000 tulips in flower.

The festival is on until October 14 at the Tesselaar Flower Farm at Silvan, just under a one hour drive from the city.

It runs daily from 10am-5pm, with a variety of themes, shows and activities.

Active Week (1-4 October) features twice daily shows of the legendary Peter Rabbit, face painting, storytelling and a trip down fairy hollow.

Irish weekend (5-7 October) will feature Irish pipers and dancers, Celtic arts, Irish coffee and beers and a few lovable Leprechauns.

The tulips will be celebrated in all their glory during Tulipmania week (8 – 14 October). The week offers a final opportunity to walk through the tulips before bidding them farewell for another year.
