ARE you a young entrepreneur with a great business idea but struggling to find a way to get it off the ground?
The City of Stonnington, with the Waterman Business Centre, wants to help one lucky person realise their business dream.
The Start Up Stonnington initiative will give one young person a 12 month business training, mentoring and networking package, plus exclusive access to Waterman’s state-of-the-art business centre and facilities.
Stonnington mayor Steve Stefanopoulos said he was delighted to be involved in this exciting initiative to support a young community member get on the road to business success.
“We recognise there are young entrepreneurs out there who may well have a great business idea, but either don’t know how to get their idea off the ground or don’t have the financial means to do so,” Cr Stefanopoulos said.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for one young person to learn valuable lessons about starting and running a business, and receive invaluable advice and mentoring from highly experienced and successful business coaches.”
Valued at over $11,000, Start Up Stonnington includes:
• entry to the year-long Support 12 training program
• a hot desk for 12 months
• access to the Waterman business community, and
• a range of other complementary services at member prices.
The council is calling for expressions of interest from young people looking to pursue their start up idea.
To be eligible candidates must be:
• aged 18 to 25 years
• have a strong connection to Stonnington
• have a well thought out start up idea
• be prepared to attend Support 12 sessions and take up the hot desk package, and
• provide at least one professional reference.
Expressions of interest are invited by 5pm Friday 3 August.
