Christa Cameron School of Ballet has been dancing in Canterbury for over 30 years.
And now is the perfect time to enrol for classes next year.
The Christa Cameron School of Ballet has trained over 3000 young dancers, and is regarded as one of the leading classical ballet schools in Australia.
Many of their dancers have gone onto have successful careers in Australian Ballet, West Australian Ballet, Queensland Ballet, Birmingham Royal Ballet, Sydney Dance Company, New York and various other companies throughout the world.
Classes are available for Sugarplum Ballerina’s, and owner and principal Christa says her school provides classes for more serious, career-minded dancers too.
“I’m sure that the Sugar Plums, and even some of their parents, would have no idea the high level that is going on in the older classes,” she said.
“I think we do that really well – the younger children are coming in to experience their first try of ballet and come along once a week, but as they get older those students who are career-minded can come six times a week.”
Numerous dancers trained by Christa have go on to join professional ballet companies across the world.
That should come as no surprise, with the school’s students receiving outstanding results in the Royal Academy of Dance levels.
Those levels are far exceeding scores by students both in Australia and the world.
NUTCRACKER
Members of the public are invited to view Christa School of Ballet’s public performance of Nutcracker on December 18.
The traditional Christmas performance is a lovely first theatre experience for children who like the ballet.
Different dance styles, including contemporary, tap and acro will also be part of the performance.
