A Hawthorn-based psychology practice will be offering a free online service designed to help parents navigate life in lockdown with their children.
Principal psychologist at Hargan Psychology, Christine Harding, said they decided to run the sessions after numerous enquiries from parents.
“We have had a number of parents approach us during the COVID-19 pandemic expressing concerns regarding their children’s behaviour, mood and educational abilities at home,” she said.
“Our Zoom sessions are a free service designed to answer parents and carers questions or concerns on a public forum; to provide some insight into why the behaviours may be occurring and to explore and develop strategies to assist.
“We have noticed an increase in parents enquiring about educational assessments, having had their children working from home for over half a year with some identifying areas of challenges.”
The practice supports clients from across Melbourne, offering a range of services.
To find out more about the session dates and times (still to be announced), visit the practice’s website or Facebook page.
