We all want what is best for our daughters so when choosing a school, it’s important to find one that gives her the opportunity to grow, develop and achieve ultimate success, whatever that may be.
The Junior School at Genazzano FCJ College caters for students from Prep through to Grade Six.
It focuses on exposing girls to a broad and diverse curriculum that not only fosters a love of learning, but helps them think critically and creatively.
Head of Junior School, Mary Jones says being an all-girls school allows students to follow their dreams – no matter how aspirational.
“For us that means for our girls there are no limits, no boundaries, no stereotypes,” Mrs Jones said.
“Our girls get a lot of opportunities to explore and if you have a daughter who likes to put herself out there, there are multiple ways for her to engage in a broad and stimulating learning experience.”
The collaborative approach to learning in the Junior School means that teachers work together to find the best possible educational outcomes for each student.
They understand that students grow and learn at different rates and provide support and direction that allows the girls to achieve success.
The Junior School is one of the first in Australia to apply and actively promote the Flow Theory approach to learning.
Based on the work of Mihalyi Csikszentmihalyi, and with its roots in Performance Psychology, Flow Theory is premised on the belief that learning best occurs when students engage in activities that are at the peak of their abilities, when they have to work to their full potential to accomplish a task.
“You’d know yourself when you become so engrossed in what you’re doing – you lose all consciousness of everything else,” Mrs Jones said.
“And we find that when we can get our girls into that sweet spot, their learning absolutely flies. They become fully engaged in the learning.”
Grounded in the Catholic faith and the principles of the Faithful Companions of Jesus, you can be sure that your daughter will have the confidence to do whatever she sets her mind to at Genazzano.
